Long Beach Police Kill Man Seated in Casino

“Monday night around 10:30pm, Long Beach police responded to a call about a man with a knife at Looff’s Lite-A-Line Casino Game of Skill. Police say that while responding they received calls saying there was a man waving a knife around. Upon their arrival, the officers found the man seated in a chair still armed with a knife. After refusing orders to drop the knife, officers attempted to use a taser and baton to subdue the man. When the fire department arrived, they pronounced the man dead. The release from the LBPD said nothing about what prompted the officers to fire. Only that they did fire and the man was killed. Surveillance cameras in the casino captured parts of the incident and the footage is being reviewed by homicide detectives.” –CopBlock
