In mid-December the FBI arrested former police chief James Burke of Suffolk County, NY shortly after his resignation. He is being held without bond while his abuses of power are investigated; they range from civil rights violations for torturing a prisoner to conspiracy charges. Before Burke is tried, retired sergeant Scott Greene from the same police department will be tried for allegedly targeting Latino drivers to pull over and rob. Because of the high ranks of those arrested, many are calling for the entire department to be investigated from the top down. More at PIX11.
