Father of slain 19-year-old sues city of Chicago over wrongful death, improper use of force

Antonio LeGrier has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city of Chicago.  He had called police for help because his son was swinging a baseball bat in their apartment early Saturday morning.  The police officer who arrived on scene shot and killed both the son, 19-year-old Quintonio LeGrier and the bystander who came to the door, 55-year-old resident Bettie Jones.  Antonio LeGrier states that his son posed no threat to the officer or anyone else at the time he was shot and killed.  Quintonio did not die right away, but no effort was made to get him medical attention while his father was forcibly separated from his dying son to give a statement.  More at DNAinfo.
