Looking to convince themselves of their own relevancy, the KKK dropped recruitment fliers on the doors of residents in Mobile, Alabama saying “The blacks have NAACP, the Mexicans have La Raza, the Jews have JDL, and white people have the KKK.”
Messages stuffed inside sandwich bags, which were first reported by TV station WPMI compared the white supremacist hate group to civil rights organizations like the NAACP.
The station reported one resident estimated that 50 neighbors received the flier, apparently from the Loyal White Knights chapter of the KKK. They’re based in North Carolina.
It’s reminiscent of past KKK leafleting campaigns, such as one last year in Selma and Montgomery, Alabama, that coincided with the 50th anniversary of the Bloody Sunday march for voting rights led by King. A Klan official said that 4,000 fliers were distributed last year.

While it is easy to dismiss this sort of activity as trivial and the work of buffoons that time left behind, it is also part of a growing trend of activity both from the KKK and other white nationalist groups over the past year.
