An unarmed teen was gunned down in his home by NYPD Officer Richard Haste.
On February 2, 2012 Officer Haste broke into the Graham home, without a warrant or probable cause, and opened fire on 18-year-old Ramarley, murdering him before the eyes of two onlookers–his grandmother and 6-year-old brother.
Officer Haste was indicted on manslaughter charges, only to have the charges dismissed by Judge Steven Barret, citing a “prosecutorial error.” In 2013, the case went before a second grand jury, who elected not to issue an indictment.
Neither officer Haste, nor any of the other officers involved in Ramarley’s murder were held accountable by the NYPD. They all remain employed and have recieved raises in excess of $24,000 since Ramarley Graham was murdered.
The family of Ramarley and other local supporters are still demanding Justice for Ramarley and that the officers involved be fired from the NYPD.
