Chewed out by Florida woman Cara Jennings for cutting medicaid and de-funding Planned Parenthood
Calls Florida Governor an “a–hole” and an “embarrassment”
Rick Scott, the Trump-loving, women-hating governor of Florida, can’t even visit a local Starbucks for a caffeine fix without hearing from disgruntled Floridians enraged over his political theater.
Cara Jennings, a 39 year old woman from Gainesville, happened to be in the local Starbucks when the Governor popped in unannounced for a drink.
Jennings decided in the moment to let him know just what she thought of his recent decisions to de-fund Planned Parenthood and significantly cut Medicaid.
“You cut Medicaid, so I couldn’t get Obamacare, said Jennings pointing her finger at Scott and simultaneously silencing one of his aides trying in vain to intervene, “You’re an a–hole. You don’t care about working people. You should be ashamed to show your face around here.”
Here’s the full clip:
Scott then tries to defend himself with the catch-all rebuttal of claiming he’s created “millions of jobs” for Florida but Jennings was hearing none of his deflections, responding immediately “Great! Who here has a great job? Or is looking forward to finishing school? You really feel like you have a job coming up?”
Scott then decides to cut his losses and leave the shop without a drink, but not before Jennings gets one final dig at the embattled Governor.
“Shame on you, Rick Scott! We depend on those services! Rich people like you don’t know what to do! When poor people like us need health services, you cut ’em. Shame on you, Rick Scott! You’re an embarrassment to our state!”
For those who need a reminder, Scott is one of three sitting governors to have endorsed Donald Trump (Chris Christie, NJ and Paul LePage, ME being the others).
He has repeatedly defended Trump’s racist, Islamophobic, and misogynistic rhetoric since endorsing him for President in March.
He also represents one of the eleven GOP-controlled state legislatures to successfully de-fund Planned Parenthood, leaving millions of low-income women without access to basic healthcare. To compensate for the variety of services that Planned Parenthood offers, his administration has offered bogus lists of so-called “providers,” who will “pick up the slack,” which include among them dentists and elementary school nurses’ offices.
Regarding the fight for reproductive rights and ending the war on women, Injustice.in has deliberately made this sign-off a constant rallying cry, and we will continue it here.
Whoever Paul LePage is, he’s not the governor of Michigan.
Our apologies, he’s the governor of Maine. This has been corrected, thank you for bringing it to our attention 🙂
Still not corrected. MN is not Maine. ME = Maine.
